Job Summary
Airalo is seeking a Senior Quality Assurance Engineer (Mobile Core Network) to join their remote-first team. As a member of the QA guild, you will create and improve the Telecom Core Network quality assurance strategy and framework. You will collaborate with stakeholders to define clear Acceptance Criteria, drive end-to-end quality validation, and execute comprehensive test activities. The ideal candidate has 5+ years in mobile telco QA, solid understanding of eSIM technology, and proficiency in analyzing signaling and user plane protocols. Job Description
Responsibilities include but are not limited to:
- Develop and implement test strategies covering all functional and non-functional aspects.
- Collaborate with stakeholders to define clear Acceptance Criteria.
- Drive end-to-end quality validation across all components.
- Execute comprehensive test activities (planning, design, execution, reporting) for various test types (Functional, Regression, Performance, Integration, E2E, Acceptance).
- Produce test documentation and release notes.
- Establish and report on key quality metrics.
- Work with Project Management to ensure quality and timely vendor deliveries.
- Partner with technical teams to address bugs, validate requirements, and enhance test automation.
- Perform field testing for critical roaming scenarios (travel may be involved).
Must-haves
- 5+ years in mobile telco QA.
- 3+ years in enterprise software deployment/integration QA.
- Solid understanding of eSIM technology.
- Familiarity with RAN, Mobile Core, and OSS/BSS.
- Knowledge of Mobile Roaming use cases.
- Proficiency in analyzing signaling and user plane protocols (SS7-CAP/MAP, Diameter, AAA, SMPP3.4, Gi, Gn, Sn, SIP) and APIs (SOAP, REST, WebHooks).
- Understanding of High Availability concepts.
- Experience with traffic simulators and test automation.
- A proactive problem-solver with a keen eye for detail.
- Excellent written and spoken English.
- Experience working internationally.
- Experience with a Mobile Carrier, Mobile Core Vendor, or Telco Service Supplier is a strong plus.
