We are hiring a VP, Freelancer Community, to lead with strategy, care, and action. This is a high-impact role focused on the health, growth, and experience of our global network. You’ll shape how we attract, engage, and support the crowd, while ensuring their voice is represented across the company. This role requires someone hands-on who can lead across functions, set vision, and scale systems. But equally important, someone who stays close to the work, listens to people, and understands what great execution looks like.

Why you will love this job?

  • You believe that the crowd economy can be a force for good if done right.
  • You understand the balance between business needs and human care.
  • You will manage complexity, scale systems, and still hold space for individual voices.
  • You will lead through data, empathy, and action, building something that empowers people, not just platforms.

Why you will love being a part of Testlio?

  • A true sense of belonging: The TestLion Pride is a global community of like-minded people who live Testlio’s six values every day.
  • Growth through learning: knowledge exchange and learning are central to working at Testlio. You’ll find that motivated, experienced TestLions with diverse backgrounds can always introduce you to new perspectives.
  • Enable human possibilities: your work at Testlio has a larger purpose. As a TestLion you will not only help our customers create well-built digital experiences for their users, but also create opportunities for Testlio's freelance network, and support social impact programs like Ignite.
  • Freedom to roam: Testlio is a global company that embraces flexibility while setting standards to help you succeed in a remote environment by having clear expectations for working hours and communication. We look for opportunities to create engagement with TestLions around the world and we want to make sure you can take time off from work to rest. We honor national holidays in your home nation and provide a generous number of days off, including personal wellness days.
  • Winning business: Testlio is growing, profitable, and cash-strong. We are leading our industry with exceptional clients who provide us with a high NPS score and a 4.7 rating on G2. Our business model is global, enterprise, and subscription-based, with 85%+ of our revenue recurring. Several of our largest clients have been with us for 7+ years and many spend $500K+/year with Testlio.
  • Great culture: Testlio is female-founded, and 46% of the population is women. Our purpose, vision, and values help drive positive mindsets and behaviors—people like working with each other and love the company's global scale. We move fast and empower people on the frontlines to make decisions and own initiatives. We do all this in our 100% fully remote and distributed team.
  • Investment in you: As a fully remote, global company, we offer benefits that support your well-being and growth, wherever you are. Enjoy flexible time off (including local holidays, sick leave, and personal days), up to $300/year in learning reimbursement (for courses on Udemy, LinkedIn Learning, and more), and stock options that start vesting after one year.

What would your day look like?

  • Lead the strategy, operations, and experience of Testlio’s global network of over 60k freelancers.
  • Build and manage a small but mighty team who are responsible for onboarding, recruiting, quality & compliance, and engagement roles — to support the crowd across their entire journey.
  • Drive the growth of the network in alignment with client demand and delivery forecasts.
  • Oversee onboarding and vetting programs to ensure the crowd is activated efficiently and meets Testlio’s quality standards.
  • Partner with Finance and Delivery to help shape fair, transparent, and scalable compensation systems for the crowd.
  • Create systems that help forecast, plan, and optimize crowd availability and readiness for client needs.
  • Work closely with Delivery, Product, Finance & Ops, People & Culture, and Marketing teams to align crowd programs with company priorities.
  • Partner with Product to improve crowd-facing platform experiences.
  • Analyze data to understand performance, satisfaction, and retention across the network and take action on what you learn.
  • Strengthen communication with the crowd, ensuring they’re informed, heard, and engaged.
  • Support community-led initiatives, recognition programs, and moments that help our crowd feel connected to the mission.
  • Be a collaborative partner across the company, aligning crowd initiatives with client, product, and brand goals.
  • Foster a culture of experimentation, inclusion, and adaptability within the crowd team — be ready to try things, learn fast, and iterate.

What do you need to succeed?

Technical Skills

  • Experience leading a global community of freelancers or global talent platforms.
  • A track record of building and managing high-performing teams across recruiting, onboarding, and engagement.
  • Strong operational background: You understand how to design scalable systems without losing speed or quality.
  • Experience collaborating cross-functionally: You know how to align teams and represent voices that aren’t always in the room.
  • Comfort with data: You should be able to interpret metrics and use insights to shape action and form priorities.
  • Bonus: Familiarity with software testing, or platform-based work models.

Human Skills

  • Clear strategic thinking paired with a willingness to get hands-on when needed.
  • Deep empathy for the crowd and a genuine commitment to fairness, inclusion, and recognition.
  • Excitement to build the best crowd experience.
  • Adaptability and curiosity — you’re open to testing new ideas, iterating quickly, and learning from what works and what doesn’t.
  • Excellent communication skills.
