Job Summary

BPM is seeking a Tax Director - Estate & Trusts to join their team. The ideal candidate has 15+ years of experience in public accounting or law firm practicing tax and estate planning and compliance. They should have a strong analytical ability, research and problem-solving skills, excellent communication and presentation skills, and the ability to manage multiple complex projects. The Tax Director will provide tax compliance and consulting services to Estate, Gift, and Trust clients, develop innovative planning ideas, and oversee complex tax research projects. They will also supervise tax staff, establish relationships with estate attorneys, and build client relationships. You Have (Requirements)

    • Licensed CPA and / or attorney
    • 15+ years’ experience in public accounting or law firm practicing tax and estate planning and compliance.
    • BS/BA degree in Accounting, JD, or LLM (Master in Tax preferred).
    • An understanding of the concepts of Estate, Trust and Gift planning.
    • Experience assisting clients with Trust Administration.
    • Strong analytical ability, research and problem-solving skills.
    • Excellent communication and presentation skills.
    • Able to manage multiple complex projects and deliver in a timely manner.
    • Ability to create and manage relationships with outside professionals, especially estate attorneys.
    • Ability to delegate work and manage/train staff.
    • Strong proficiency in Microsoft Office Tools and tax programs (ProSystems Tax or CCH Axcess preferred).

You Will (Job Responsibilities)

    • Provide tax compliance and consulting services to our Estate, Gift, and Trust clients.
    • Develop and deliver innovative planning ideas that meet or exceed client expectations.
    • Oversee complex tax research projects for a variety of Estate, Trust, and Gift issues.
    • Work with clients to minimize their tax obligations and best pass assets according to client's wishes.
    • Supervise tax staff and manage the delivery of tax consulting and compliance services to the client.
    • Establish relationships with estate attorneys and other advisors serving our clients.
    • Build and manage client relationships with existing client base.
    • Build a network of business contacts and establish market relationships to generate new business.
    • Participate in, and contribute to, market and business activities that are external to the firm while providing direction to, and maintaining, managerial responsibility for a team.
    • Manage financial performance of practice, including billing, collections, and department budget.
    • Act as a coach and mentor to other risk assurance professionals.
$160,000 - $227,000 a year
