Welocalize is seeking a South Korea-based patent filing associate firm to support client legal teams in executing jurisdiction-specific patent filing and validation activities. The partnership forms part of a broader multi-country filing program focused on optimizing quality, cost, and compliance in global IP processes. As a patent filing associate, you will handle national phase entry and validation of PCT applications in South Korea, collaborate with international legal teams, and provide local representation and expert insight into KIPO procedural and documentation requirements. You will also offer guidance on timelines, formalities, and updates related to Korean patent prosecution and filings. This is a remote opportunity that requires registration and authorization before the Korean Intellectual Property Office (KIPO) and demonstrated experience with PCT national phase entries, direct filings, and Korean patent validations.
Job Description
Scope of Work
- Handle national phase entry and validation of PCT applications in South Korea.
- Collaborate with international legal teams to ensure timely and accurate submissions to the Korean Intellectual Property Office (KIPO).
- Provide local representation and expert insight into KIPO procedural and documentation requirements.
- Offer guidance on timelines, formalities, and updates related to Korean patent prosecution and filings.
- Participate in rate discussions and provide transparent pricing (hourly, task-based, or official fee structure as applicable).
Selection Requirements
- Registered and authorized to act before the Korean Intellectual Property Office (KIPO).
- Legally permitted to file and prosecute patent applications on behalf of international clients in South Korea.
- Demonstrated experience with PCT national phase entries, direct filings, and Korean patent validations.
- Firm must provide a company profile or brochure, website link, and a clear point of contact for coordination.
