The ideal candidate will have 3+ years of leadership experience in Fintech or fast-scaling brokerage businesses, direct experience as a mortgage broker, and expertise with AI tooling. They should be proactive, action-oriented, efficient, and possess strong written and verbal communication skills. The role involves leading a team, coaching brokers, designing workflows using AI, and partnering with various teams to ensure operational excellence. Job Description
In this role you will have the opportunity to:
- Lead and coach a team of mortgage brokers to deliver outstanding client experiences and achieve performance goals.
- Build and maintain strong client relationships, providing expert advice, and guiding clients through the mortgage process.
- Design and improve workflows using AI, driving efficiencies across sales, onboarding, and operations.
- Partner with Wealthsimple's legal, compliance, product, and marketing teams to ensure all activities align with regulatory requirements and company objectives.
- Analyze performance data to uncover insights and guide strategy, coaching, and process improvements.
- Foster a team culture rooted in accountability, transparency, and innovation.

- Mortgage Guru:They love being a mortgage broker. Guiding clients through their mortgage journey is their passion and they always put client experience first. Now they oversee a team, but working directly with clients is their favourite part of the job.
- Problem-solving: If something seems off, they want to figure out what’s going on; they enjoy navigating uncertainty, bringing clarity to ambiguity, and don’t wait for a playbook to be written.
- 3+ years of leadership experience: They have worked in a Fintech or fast scaling brokerage business. From a client perspective, they have a deep understanding of client needs and journeys through the mortgage process.
- Licensing: They have direct experience as a mortgage broker and have the ability to act as principal broker. From a licensing perspective, they understand their regulatory responsibilities and take a proactive approach to compliance.
- Experience with AI Tooling: They have experience with AI tooling, with bonus points for experience using AI tools in sales, operations, or compliance.
- Proactive Action Oriented: They act without being told what to do, taking full ownership of work and proactively seeking help and input when needed to provide well-supported solutions.
- Efficiency: They can produce significant output with minimum wasted effort; they find the path of least resistance to problem definition, solution, and execution.
- Strong written and verbal communication: Speaks plainly and truthfully. Communicates complex ideas in a simple and easy-to-understand way for any audience.
- Honesty/integrity: Doesn't cut corners; does what is right, not what is politically expedient.
- Relevant experience: Demonstrated success in leading a commission-based sales team within the mortgage industry.
