Mercy For Animals is seeking a Global Corporate Relations Specialist to research multinational food corporations, analyze data, and develop outreach materials to promote animal welfare policies. The ideal candidate will have 1+ year of experience in research, documentation, or corporate affairs, excellent communication skills, and fluency in Spanish and English. Terms of Employment: Full-time or EOR (depending on location)

NOTE: Outside of Mexico this would be a full-time employer-of-record (EOR) position. The selected candidate would be hired under an EOR agreement.

Reports To: Senior Global Corporate Relations Manager

Position Location: Remote in Mexico, Chile, Ecuador, Peru, Uruguay, or Panama (Candidates must be able to legally work in one of these countries; Mercy For Animals cannot sponsor work visas.)

Job Family: Specialist

Salary Range: 18,000 to 23,000 USD/year, paid in local currency, commensurate with experience and location. Note that salary ranges vary between countries.

Position Objective

To research multinational food corporations and explore tools and data that will help our corporate engagement team interact with these companies and, if needed,* engage directly with companies to help encourage them to adopt and implement meaningful animal welfare policies that eliminate the cruelest practices in their global supply chains

*Initially, this role will focus on research, documentation, and analysis—up to 100% of the workload. Responsibilities may shift over time to include more engagement according to departmental needs.

 

You will do invaluable work:

  • Identify, research, and propose prospective outreach targets
  • Maintain up-to-date company documentation
  • Keep thorough records of egg industry data and animal welfare practices
  • Develop and maintain accurate, up-to-date, and consistent outreach materials that comply with internal legal, editorial, and messaging standards
  • Collaborate with the projects manager as needed to gather, organize, or synthesize company-related or other relevant information to support internal planning, prioritization, and strategic alignment
  • Work with other nonprofit organizations to foster solid relationships and coordination between Mercy For Animals and other corporate engagement professionals
  • Help develop and execute effective strategies for working with the food industry to secure and implement commitments to eliminating the cruelest supply chain practices globally
  • Track communications with companies, and share updates with supervisor
  • Support global digital and in-person corporate campaign actions
  • Collaborate with other departments at Mercy For Animals to advance the organization’s strategic objectives
  • Adhere to all organizational policies and procedures
  • Perform any other duties as assigned

 

Your qualifications will take our corporate engagement team to the next level:

  • Minimum of one year’s professional experience in research, documentation, corporate affairs, supply chain management or a related area, preferably at a multinational or global level
  • Understanding of the food industry and key farmed animal welfare issues
  • Excellent interpersonal and written and spoken communication skills
  • Strong organizational, time-management, and project-management skills
  • Exceptional research skills
  • Global mindedness, cultural sensitivity, and a collaborative approach
  • Self-motivation, goal orientation, and a growth mindset
  • Ability to analyze complex information and extract key points for strategic decision-making
  • Fluency in Spanish and English (required) 
  • Ability to maintain confidentiality
  • Willingness and ability to travel occasionally
