Job Summary
The Domestic Income Tax Intern will assist with initial tax returns, maintaining company tax records, and researching inquiries from government agencies regarding filings, compliance, and other claims. The internship is hybrid, working 2 days a week at the San Antonio, TX headquarters and remotely for the remaining days. The ideal candidate has a degree in accounting, basic knowledge of accounting, and strong communication skills. They will work under close supervision with careful review of completed assignments. This opportunity is available from February 2025 for three months with a possibility of extension. Job Description
The Domestic Income Tax Intern will assist with initial tax returns, maintaining company tax records, preparing filings for tax refunds, and researching inquiries from government agencies regarding filings, compliance, and other claims. Research methods and present proposals to lessen tax liability through the use of laws and regulations. Data gathering from various tax and accounting systems to assist in the completion of projects. The Domestic Income Tax Intern will operate under close supervision, with careful review of completed assignments.
Must have the availability to work a minimum of 25hours a week Monday through Friday during regular business hours (Between 8 am CT and 6 pm CT)
Internship location: This is a hybrid office/work-from-home internship working 2 days per week at our San Antonio, TX headquarters located at 19122 N US 281.
Anticipated start: February 2025
Internship Duration: Three months with a possibility of an extension
SKILLS/KNOWLEDGE/EXPERIENCE:
- You are an enrolled junior, senior, or graduate student pursuing a Bachelor's or Master's degree in accounting. An emphasis on tax accounting or an interest in tax accounting is preferred.
- Basic knowledge of accounting.
- Good time management, communication, decision-making, presentation, human relations, and organizational skills.
- Good working knowledge of Microsoft Excel and Word
- Detail Oriented; self-sufficient
