As a Compliance Specialist on their Risk Team, you will support the execution and continuous improvement of Cover Genius's insurance compliance program in the Americas. You will work with internal teams and external stakeholders to implement best practices, maintain licenses and filings, and uphold the company's reputation with regulators and partners. The ideal candidate is detail-oriented, analytical, and able to prioritize tasks and meet deadlines. They should also have strong organizational and written/oral communication skills. Job Description
Key Responsibilities
- Assist in preparation and filing of license applications, licensing renewals, and other regulatory filings and reporting.
- Support the development and maintenance of internal compliance policies, procedures, and controls.
- Establish & maintain surplus lines processes and procedures, including submission of state tax filings, broker forms and affidavits.
- Assist in preparation of responses to regulatory inquiries, complaints and requests.
- Maintain compliance calendars and tracking tools to ensure timely submissions and renewals.
- Assist in the development & delivery of compliance training programs.
- Collaborate with cross-functional teams to review and support compliant product development and distribution.
- Participate in internal audits, risk assessments, and implementation of corrective actions.
- Understand regulatory changes and support implementation of projects to maintain compliance across the company.
- Assist with ad-hoc compliance projects as assigned.
What you will bring
- Solid knowledge and understanding of the insurance, legal, or regulatory environment preferred.
- Ability to research regulatory requirements applicable to our lines of business and communicate with regulators as required.
- Comprehensive knowledge of Gsuite/ Microsoft Office applications, including Word, Excel and PowerPointBachelor's degree in a relevant field.
- A postgraduate degree and/or record of academic achievement is also desirable.
